The M Triangle Ranch is located in the high desert country of southeast Arizona nestled under Mt. Graham. We have another ranch called the Black Ranch that is located 10 miles northwest of Willcox. Vonnie, (Shelley's mom) still resides there. We raise and rotate our cattle between both ranches. The two ranches have been in our family for over 80 years. We are a family run business spanning five generations. We raise beef cattle on approximately 7700 acres. We are currently enrolled in the rotational grazing and wildlife habitat program with our local NRCS office. Our goal is to produce a grass fed-all natural beef animal that is hormone and antibiotic free. We vaccinate our cattle with Ultrabac 8 when they are babies to keep our herd healthy and disease free.
We currently raise Brangus and Angus cattle that graze on our ranch. We have our own bloodline of cows and heifers that we raise and keep, and we buy outside bulls for breeding. The cattle graze natural range pasture when available or are moved to our irrigated pasture where they can graze on wheat grass or mixed forages. Our animals are all naturally grown with no hormones, or antibiotics.
We have branched into the pork and poultry business and plan on later raising hogs, free range and natural fed heritage turkeys, and chicken. We currently sell quartered, half, and whole cuts of beef and farm fresh eggs. We welcome visitors to the ranch during roundups or by appointment who are interested in a tour and/or purchasing live animals.
Mark and Shelley Michaels are the owners and operators of M Triangle and Black Ranch. They have two daughters that also have been involved in ranching and the agricultural industry and have competed in rodeo their whole lives. Shelley is also a Guidance Counselor and Music Teacher at Bonita Elementary School, a rural school in the area. Mark works countless hours being a rancher and tending to the cattle and ranch facilities. Maddee, the oldest daughter, graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Animal Science, and later from Texas Tech University with a Master’s Degree in Ag Business. Maycee is the youngest daughter. She received her associates degree from Cochise College where she competed on the rodeo team. She is attending New Mexico State University in the fall of 2024 where she plans to complete her bachelor's degree in Animal Science and compete on the rodeo team as well.
The Michaels' Family revolve around agriculture in all areas. They strive to work hard and raise quality Brangus and Angus cattle for their consumers.
